TVTO GRADE 3 CERTIFICATE (ILO STANDARDS 9-59/94)
Theoretical training 21 hours Practical training 43 hours Total duration 64 hours
A Grade 3 diver will be able to perform the following activities up to 20 meters during day light:
1- Skin diving in pools, dams, lakes and oceans 2- Distinguish elements of the work environment 3- Dive with diving suit 4- Safely jump into water and communicate with the team 5- Dive with line and equipment and communicate with the team 6- Move on sea bed with heavy equipment 7- Inspect and locate submersed objects 8- Remove cables from propellers and rudders 9- Inspection of ship and plant stations’ pumps 10- Removal of moss 11- Inspection of sea corrosion protection systems 12- Inspection of canal beds 13- Find and carry objects 14- Knowledge of health and safety issues 15- Service end maintenance of diving equipment
Each of the points mentioned above consists of theoretical and practical instruction. For example point 5 (Dive with line and equipment and communicate with the team) consists of instruction in:
5.1- Diving physics 5.2- Diving physiology 5.3- Diving equipments and its use 5.4- Underwater communications and communication via life line 5.5- Marine life 5.6- Diving health hazards etc.
Total duration of TVTO Grade 3 Certificate course is 64 hours. Number of trainee divers per course 15 persons.
1- Skin diving (3 pool sessions and 1 sea/lake session) 2- Open water diving (12 additional sea/lake sessions)

Fees include insurance cover during the training period but exclude transport, accommodation, meals, medical examinations, books etc.
Divers with previous training from the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and Islamic Republic of Iran Revolutionary Corps Navy as well as overseas organisations such as IDSA, PADI, CMAS, ACUS, etc. may apply for TVTO Grade 3 Certificate by sending their documents to IMTDI. The Evaluation Committee will assess the applicant’s qualifications and decide the type and duration of the additional training required for each individual case. Pro rata fees will apply for the additional training.
